Day 3 of my trip to Oregon with my boys.

Casey decided to try sleeping in the hammock last night and it started raining after he fell asleep. He retreated to my bed in the middle of the night and I woke up with him next to me. I got up early and did yoga before the boys joined me for coffee.

We packed up the car and drove 1 1/2 hours to the coast with Lauren and had a wonderful lunch of fried oysters and checked into our Airbnb which is minutes to the beach. The path to the beach was through a tunnel of scrubby plants growing on the dunes.

It has been wonderful so far. Everyone is in a great mood, I’m loving being with my kids and Lauren, and everything feels peaceful and right. I will do a trip with them every year until they don’t want to anymore. It has been a tremendous gift to me.
