What’s Up With Russia?

I got a notice today that Congratulations! I have +200 followers.

This comes as news to me since I thought I had 670 followers according to my home page.

I know that WordPress has a wonky way of counting followers. One person can be counted three times if they follow me on Facebook, Twitter and the blog, but still. Weird.

I’m not complaining. I write this blog primarily for my own sanity … and for when I suffer a traumatic head injury that leaves me wiped clean of memories (yet physically unmarred just like in soap operas) and the only way I will have of rebuilding my personality is this blog.

What really confounds me is the sudden interest Russians have in my blog. I must get 3 to 5 Russian followers each day. Am I experiencing Russian momentum?

I’d bet money that all my Russian followers are some kind of automated bot signing up for nefarious reasons I cannot comprehend. What’s the end game? It’s not like Instagram where people will follow you in hopes that you will follow them back. No one is commenting. No one is trying to sell me anything.

That’s “What the fuck” in Russian

Anyway, on the off chance that Russians suddenly can’t get enough of my blog, Спасибо!

And hey, do me a favor and “like” this post or leave me a comment in Russian.
