My list making initiative has been going really well, I’m getting a ton done and feeling better about myself.
Part of the deal with the lists is to take time off on the weekends and enjoy life.
I’m trying to focus more on the boys, spending more time doing what they want to do rather than trying to always multitask. It’s hard for me to turn it off.
Nina told me that one of her guilty pleasures is reading my drunk posts.
“I actually like the ones you write while you’re drunk the most.”
I’m afraid I can’t help with that. I am not drunk right now.
Since it was her birthday and all …
I was supposed to go walking with Tabby on Sunday morning, but in the middle of celebrating Nina’s birthday on Saturday night, I decided to call it off.
I discovered this little gem on my phone the next morning.
I don’t remember how the evening wrapped up. We all came back to my place and that’s where things got a little fuzzy. I also found this on my phone.
In my defense, I tried to get out of there earlier. I had everyone rounded up and ready to go when the waitress came by with a tray full of Jameson whisky that she was giving out for free.
Like I’m going to say no to that.
I paid for it the next day. Instead of going to My Asian Daughter’s class, I slunk into the studio while the boys were at parkour and hung out in one of the silk hammocks instead.
Like an angel sent from heaven, Norell showed up and massaged my shoulders and neck while in the sling which felt like heaven. Thanks Norell!
Speaking of My Asian Daughter, she performed at The University of Colorado’s Women’s Resource Center’s Sexpressions Showcase which was a celebration of healthy sexuality and is combatting rape culture. Waeli knocked it out of the park.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the opportunity to study with her. She is a master.
Her class is right before mine so I logged her out of the computer and noticed her Facebook page was open. I posted a little love letter to me on her behalf.
It was also Blue’s birthday, he’s four!
On his birthday he got a stuffed squeaky squirrel and feasted on cantaloupe melon, his favorite.
Also celebrated that weekend was an Indian wedding which went parading past my home. What a treat!
They crossed paths with this oh-so-American group of tourists too lazy to walk.
Anyway, with Saturday night’s cautionary experience about the evils of alcohol, I’m back at the studio and enjoying how good it feels to not be hung over.
Yesterday I took My Asian Daughter’s class, then taught, then took Ranee’s silks class. I felt like I had been hit by a car afterwards.
Especially since I subjected my class to this warmup.
This was my second time taking Ranee’s silks class and it was a tiny bit easier.
A fellow classmate was like, “Oh, you are here again.”
Me: Yesssss. Why is that odd?
Her: Well, I’m surprised considering the language you were using last week in class.
Me: Oh that.
I guess I should watch my fucking mouth.
I’m not gonna lie, my body hurts about as badly as it did when I was hung over (although differently, of course) but I’ll take a work-out hangover over an alcohol hangover any day.
Time to walk the dog and get on checking off the list items.
