One of our favorite chickens hasn’t been feeling well. I shot this video a couple days ago and you can see by my face how concerned I was. Or maybe my face always looks like that in the morning.
As of last night she was doing okay, so keep your fingers crossed.
The weather is springlike – for now – and I’m taking advantage of the sun and mild temperature to walk the stupid dog.
Walking on a mild day while listening to a good book is one of my greatest pleasures in life. I just finished listening to American Savage by Dan Savage. Although I didn’t think it was possible, I love and respect him even more. It’s a great listen/read.
I love walking through neighborhoods. It reminds me of when I was a kid in Sacramento and my mother and I would drive around the ritzy neighborhoods and pick out the houses we’d like to own.
The coming of spring gets me hankering for sundresses. I stopped into the fabric store yesterday and picked out some fabrics and patterns that I will likely start tonight.
I have two boys coming over tonight for a sleepover and while they watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, I’ll be cutting fabric and patterns. It’s very soothing.
I’m a fan of vintage patterns and styling. Sundresses are my favorite thing in the world to make because they are uncomplicated and the supplies are relatively cheap.
That said, you can always buy a dress cheaper than you can make it. It might not be as nice as a custom dress, but sewing is not an inexpensive alternative.
I do it because I love it.
